Science and technology affect nearly every aspect of our lives, yet many of us don't know enough about these topics to be able to talk with each other, form opinions or participate in decision-making either personally or at a governmental level. Beyond Fact, a partnership between Multnomah County Library and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, presents a new series of book discussion groups led by OMSI educators and scientists designed to inform, engage and enlighten participants in four different science themes.
Read "Your Inner Fish: A Journey into the 3.5-Billion-Year History of the Human Body" by Neil Shubin. Fish paleontologist Shubin illuminates the subject of evolution with humor and clarity in this compelling look at how the human body evolved over the millennia from humble beginnings into its present state
